Francis Benali and Saints FC women’s manager Marieanne Spacey Cale raised over £1500 in dinner evening in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Hosted at Ottoman Kitchen restaurant located on the high street in southampton, fans were treated to a three-course Turkish meal from our Charcoal grill followed by an interview conducted by local radio and Saints match day presenter Jono Holmes and Q&A. Fans asked Francis and Marieanne questions ranging from whether they’d follow in Matt Hancocks footsteps by appearing on I’m A Celebrity to Englands chances of lifting the 2022 World Cup.
Items included in the auction conducted by local compere Lucian De LaLoi included a shirt Benali world in his Iron Fran challenge signed by the whole England team which fetched £300. Other auction items included a signed Saints FC women’s shirt donated by the club. Over 100 guests attended the evening on a cold rainy November night to raise over £1500 for Cancer Research UK.
Ottoman kitchen is hoping to hold another fund-raising event in early 2023 featuring more Saints famous faces.
